The Lesson Behind Story Corps

Thanks for stopping by. If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed and check out some popular articles.

(For the record, I hate that corps is said “core”. Why can’t we just write it as core? I’m sure there is a reason behind it, just one of my pet peeves.)

I’m guessing you’ve heard of Story Corps. In fact this post sort of relies on it so if you have no idea what I’m talking about get educated. Essentially this organization sets up recording booths in places like Grand Central Station and anyone can come in and tell a story. The stories are archived at the Library of Congress. (Don’t ask me how much that is costing me as a tax payer…)

The beauty of this national service is it highlights that everyone has a story to tell. These are regular folks coming in, sitting down, and telling a story. They are young, old, engaged, single, married, and from all of the different aspects of life.

Every story I’ve heard thus far is engaging and interesting. They’ll play them on NPR occasionally.

Everyone has a story.

What story are you telling?
