We tried to plan a trip to New York City very quickly earlier this year. We had originally planned on going in December, but I convinced my wife that it would be frigid and we have thin southern blood. We would end up freezing to death walking through Central Park on a snowy day, just because we had to go to Central Park.

So we tried to bump it up to May of this year. Yup, short time line.

It didn’t work out. We looked high and low — TripAdvisor, Travelocity, Orbitz… nobody had any hotel reservations anywhere near our price point. Sorry, I can’t afford to pay $400 per night. At least not yet!

I wish I had known about TravelHERO.com. We probably spent a whole afternoon trying Priceline as well. I really needed a hero at that time. If I had known about TravelHERO, I could look for our hotels reservation online. Alas, I didn’t. And we pushed the trip back a whole year.

Sometimes good things come to those who wait.
